  • Avoid ibuprofen; take paracetamol for any discomfort.

  • Book a complimentary review/top-up at 2 weeks if necessary.

  • The procedure is non-permanent, typically lasting 8 to 24 months depending on the thickness of the filler and the area treated. The fillers are dissolvable, allowing for reversal and removal at any time.

  • Refills are not required, but they are available if desired. Results vary for each individual, and follow-up appointments are recommended to maintain and achieve the desired outcome.

  • As with any medical procedure there are potential risks. It is crucial to find an experienced and qualified injector who understands safe technique, facial anatomy, and the importance of patient education and managing complications. You will always be consulted by our doctor prior to your treatment.

    Potential risks include:

Swelling: Most patients experience temporary swelling, usually resolving within a few days. To reduce swelling, all patients will be provided ice packs to go home with.

Pain: We use topical and local anaesthetics to minimize discomfort. After local anaesthetics, there will be no pain associated with the procedure. Paracetamol can be taken if needed post-procedure.

Bruising: Very common. To reduce this risk, patients are encouraged not to drink alcohol for 24 hours prior to the procedure. If you do bruise, it usually resolves within 7 days.

Infection: To minimise this risk and ensure patient safety, all procedures are performed in a controlled and clean environment. If there are any risk factors for infections – such as a history of viral cold sores, we will supply anti-virals as a prophylaxis prior to any lip filler procedure. If there are signs of bacterial infection (redness, swelling, itch, pain, warmth) post - procedure, you will be prescribed with antibiotics as a prophylaxis.

Allergy – While rare, we're equipped with appropriate medications to manage allergic reactions.

Vascular occlusion – Rare but possible if filler unintentionally enters a blood vessel. Safer injection techniques are employed to minimise this risk, and immediate reversal is possible with a dissolving agent.

If you notice signs of an adverse event, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. You will have a direct phone 24/7.

  • There is no downtime, you can continue going to work and continue your everyday activities. However, avoid makeup for 24 hours, physical exercise for 24 hours, and expect swelling for 7 days, reducing it with regular icing.

  • We use both topical cream anaesthetics and locally injected anaesthetics to minimize pain, ensuring a relatively painless experience.
